New, Like New, Used and Salvage Inventory Explained

Where each grade comes from, what it costs, and what work it demands from you.

New and Like New

New is factory sealed and unused. Like New has been opened or repackaged but shows no meaningful use. Both are ready to list with minimal processing, and both cost more per unit.

Used

Previously used goods with expected cosmetic wear. Functionality varies and is rarely tested at the lot level. Cleaning and honest condition descriptions are the work here.

Salvage

Damaged, incomplete, or non-working goods. Salvage exists for parts recovery, repair operations, and scrap value. It is the cheapest grade and the one that most often loses money for buyers who misjudge it.
