LTL vs truckload
Less-than-truckload freight shares trailer space with other shippers and suits 1-8 pallets. Full truckload dedicates a trailer to your load and becomes more economical above roughly 8-10 pallets, depending on lane and weight.
Accessorial charges
Liftgate service, residential delivery, limited-access locations, inside delivery, and delivery appointments are all billed on top of base freight. Disclose your delivery conditions accurately when requesting a quote — undisclosed accessorials are rebilled after delivery.
Receiving and claims
Inspect before signing. Note any damage on the delivery receipt, photograph the shipment as delivered, and file freight claims promptly. A clean signed receipt makes a damage claim very difficult to pursue.
