What Is Estimated Retail Value?
How ERV is calculated on a listing, and the specific things it does not mean.
How ERV is produced
Estimated retail value is the sum of each manifest line's quantity multiplied by its unit retail. On unmanifested lots, any ERV shown is a seller estimate and is labeled as such.
What ERV is not
It is not a resale forecast, not a valuation of the goods in their current condition, and not a promise that every unit is present and functional. A lot priced at 15% of ERV is not automatically an 85% margin.
How to use it
Use ERV to compare the scale of similar lots and to sanity-check a price. Use your own channel data to decide what to pay.
