What Is a Liquidation Truckload?

Full and partial truckloads explained: pallet counts, weight limits, and who they suit.

Size and composition

A full truckload in a 53' trailer typically holds 24 to 26 standard pallets, up to roughly 42,000 lbs depending on freight class and axle limits. A partial truckload is anything between LTL economics and a full load — commonly 8 to 20 pallets.

Why truckloads cost less per unit

You are buying the seller's entire problem at once, and freight is spread across far more units. The trade-off is capital commitment, storage space, and the labor to process a much larger volume within a reasonable window.

What you need before buying

Dock access or a yard with unloading equipment, storage for 24+ pallets, and staff available during the carrier's free unloading window. Detention charges accrue quickly when a trailer waits.
